I like that fact that the USAA Club is here .. for me, for you, for all .. to use and enjoy.

I like that there are really good pro's working the USAA Club site .. I like that its not a one man show and has real team work ..

I like the USAA Club colors.. the images.. the layout etc. Yes, improvements could be made and probably will be. I like RED - White - Blue. I like the P51

I like that I have options for viewing the USAA Club forums etc .. inside or outside. I like choices .. but not too many choices.

I like a well ordered USAA Club house with rules that apply to all... evenly .. and fair.

I like this USAA Club House .. I think I'll stick around :)

Why this post? I just thought it would be nice to have fair and balanced topics .. so this one sites opposite of "What i don't like about the new site". Each has its merits I suppose. It would have sat better with me if that "other" post were titled "Improvements we might consider".. but hey they meant no harm and I understand that.

Call it a social experiment .. lets see .. I'm betting "What I don't like about this site" gets more posts and replies then the topic "What I like about the new USAA Club Site".  Prove me wrong <eg>

I agree, Tbar, and although my opinion, as webmaster of UKAA isnt directly relevant to this site, i was thankful of the fact that people knew who to deal with when voicing concerns/suggestions/comments about my work - the club captain

There seems to be no central equivalent post here, you have this admin and that admin and we'll have to put it to a vote etc etc, there seems to be noone taking responsibility for any decisions made on the site.

I'd love to help you with the (for example) pilots in action script - i've made a test joomla site on my own webspace to test it after comments here from your webmaster regarding its incompatibility (it works fine for me ;-) ), but dont know WHO to talk to who HAS the authority to make DECISIONS without a VOTE or MEETING.

I like democracy, but I like open government also where people have roles to play.

If you want, i'll just fade to grey - i was hoping to help you.

Hi Animal,
I have been trying to get the Pilots in action working on my joomla test site also.

It works with no problem except I wanted it to use the CSS sheet for this site and not be all white in the background.Have you had any success with that problem >

Please pm with any ideas that may work.I have access to the entire backend of this site along with Firestorm.

Ahhh this is a 2 birds with 1 stone reply,
Yes Cascading Sheets can be a biotch.
Yes if you had a pm tracking block you would know if animal answered your pm or not. (see my pm thread about that).  ;D

Good Point Tbar

I could have worded it better.

I like the way the UK pages open and layout and I also Like the YSha site layout.

I dont mean any negativity towrds all that are making this happen.
And I love the site.

I just like the functionality of the other layouts better.

I agree, Tbar, and although my opinion, as webmaster of UKAA isnt directly relevant to this site, i was thankful of the fact that people knew who to deal with ... Respectfully, you sir.. have a very bad impression and understanding of the USAAC and how it works.

I've seen plenty of "jokes" on the UK site about our colors, our politics, the name we give to our forum sections .. and the titles of our department/section managers. But no one has asked us any questions or  come forward to ask like you have. This "misunderstanding, etc, might be partially due to the USAAC in not making contact with the powers that be at the UKAAC site and so informing them etc. As a last resort  .. always contact the Director of the USAAC who can give you, direct you .. or find.. any information you need as to who is who, etc.

You can contact me any time in the air .. on TS.. whatever and I will get you in touch with the right people .. love to .. love to share a little about the 'real' USAAC and how it works. PM me you like via this board or the CLP system.

I do admit that on this site .. all is not yet organized as we would like.

There is a directory on the Front page of the main USAAC site that does provide email address's .. and names... eventually those email links will be links to a page that explains what each persons responsibilities are as defined by the USAAC BoD as well as contact info.

We certainly do want any help you would want to offer. It is a most kind offer .. one not taken lightly or un-noticed. I have the Pilots in action code working also on my test sites , and I think Kid does also, however you may have a better solution/coding.

In our move .. we lost a forum for the webmaster to communicate with helper in geek-talk that was private .. this would have been a forum you could have access to. When staff have time to evaluate the need ... this might reappear.

Our webmaster is 'busy' right now and ill last I heard. His name is Firestorm and now part of the WS Squad I think .. you can contact him this board PM.. or his email address off the front page .. or the CLP system. I'm sure he would value any assistance you might offer.  Kid as a set of backdoor keys and might be able to plug in the code you have and put it to work .. you might contact Kid.

You can cover the block with an inline style sheet and that will format it.

echo '<div style="something;here">$pilots_in_action</div>';

Good luck :).

Naaaa, you don't need to apologize .. everyone knows the thread was meant for "good" and "improvement". People just tend to hop on a few negatives .. and never give credit to all that is 'good'. We always talk about "problems".. and hardly ever talk about the Good. Take the Evening News for example .. 90% of what they report on is BAD, hardly anything about what is good.

Many thanks for clearing that up tbar.

I've been in communication with kid via PM, and helped him with the code he was trying to get to work.

You're right about the negatives - It's something we on UKAA come across as well - Personally I like the dark theme of your homepage a lot - but the rest of the UK club wasnt ready for a change that dramatic i think ;-)  so we went with a close approximation of the existing style.

It is a pity that the commercial theme you're using doesnt have a fluid option in its setup to allow full browser width :-(

Keep at it, you guys are doing a great job!

We needed a quick start. The them were are using can be customized to be fluid as you say. Give our poor overworked Web Manager Time .. :)

Its all volunteer .. as time permits .. and the folks working the USAA Club Site have done a very good job so far .. very good. How can we complain about what they have done for us .. for free .. and given their time. I can't :)

I like the info and layout of the homepage.

Everything you need is there. Great starting point!
