I think the real reason for no GE plane is hidden in the lack of experience of using such a plane.  As most do when starting out in this game they try to make a turn fighter of out the 109K4 or the FW-190, which both will only turn if you put on a wire and swing it around in circles.  To those of us who are still learning this plane, and to those of you have some what mastered the skills it takes fly these planes, congratulations.  For those who don't accept these planes for their awesome abilities, you have a lot of learning a head of you if you wish to be competitive  in AA leagues.

You're only hurting yourself for not using them.

Have to agree with Joker on that one. By not using GE planes you certainly do limit your capabilities and with this game there is little room to move.

As you can see there are very few arenas and not loads of game choices so when you decide to take out one nation out of four, then you do really limit yourself.

Having said that, I do wish you all the very best of luck.  thumbsup

Lighten up folks! What Navarre is trying to do is different from what we are used to... so what? If he comes up with a way to defeat the 109 when against similarly skilled players, then I'm all for it. Let's all support him and see how it goes.

Good luck Navarre, and welcome to Air Attack.

Lotta self-help tapes out there. Got one called "How to Handle Disappointment." I got it home and the box was empty.

Thanks, Temper! :-)  You always were my favorite.  I've spent alot of time trying to knock that bug off of my computer screen, too.

Joker, I'm not opposed to the use of the FW-190 or 109K4, except in the capacity of this squadron.  My reason for this is that most players have become overdependent on using such aircraft to achieve results...meaning that pilots are usually just waiting for their turn on GE to down enemy fighters, and spend much of their time evading as US/SU/GB.  It turns it into a game of cat and mouse, rather than the muzzle-to-muzzle dogfighting experience that it should be.  Even US planes seem to be largely neglected for the German aircraft, and in servers where all aircraft are available, you will see that the aircraft chosen are most often German.  It is my opinion that the abilities of these aircraft are more balanced than people tend to think...maneuverability is a tool, too, and it seems to me people spend less time practicing with GB/SU VINs than they do with US/GE VINs.  I'm simply trying to encourage a squad to focus on an opposing set of aircraft than those most commonly practiced with, to make showing of a more complete game experience.  I may lack experience with German aircraft, but it's not out of frustration at the lack of agility.  Truth be told, I've felt that I never even need to set foot in one in multiplayer, as most everybody else is already using them, anyhow, when I get into the room.  That doesn't mean I haven't noticed how they maneuver.  They pack a good punch, but they turn like a five-legged elephant, and that's a weakness which can be exploited by a more agile aircraft.  Confuse 'em.  Drive 'em down into the dirt.  Loop up and around 'em.  Swing in behind 'em.  They can't shoot out the tailpipe, so a pilot putting some thought into how to outflank his opponent should be able to do a good bit of damage in a 1v1.  Adding multiple opponents to the scenario changes the prospect a little...the most important part for a GB/SU aircraft is not to get pinned down with fire, or hit.

Ok, the flight dynamics may not be entirely authentic, but I still find the aircraft to be fairly balanced in terms of their ability to destroy one another.  I'd also remind you that in a more realistic scenario, you wouldn't find pilots of opposing nations flying one anothers aircraft all too often.  Just think of us as an allied squadron.  My intention is not to discriminate against GE.  Honestly, if a German national is offended by discrimination against GE aircraft, they will be the exception to this rule, and by all means can blast away with these aircraft, although I would still recommend lots and lots of practice with Allied VINs.
