Quote
NASA has faced growing pressure to cut its budget as the US government's debt soars and the United States buckles under the deepest economic crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

The agency has also seen dwindling political support, with its White House and congressional paymasters reluctant to fund the type of expensive manned space exploration that saw the agency put 12 men on the moon.

NASA is estimated to have already spent a little over nine billion dollars on Constellation, including 3.5 billion on the Ares 1 and 3.7 billion on Orion.

The Obama administration plans to hike NASA's budget by 5.9 billion dollars over five years to boost commercial development, with the goal of a first commercial flight to the ISS launching by 2015, the advisor said.

Reasonably. It´s saving money you don´t have anyway. This is how presidents should work with tax-money. Wink

Who needs an aerospace industry, when your population is unemployed and doesn´t have health care insurances ?  I really don´t understand your moan at times.

HEHEHE a forum for just us that would be a riot!
Back on topic:
I am more dissaponted that our return to the moon has been delayed, and our heavy lift capabilities are on hold till the private sector developes a new vehicle.
I am aware of the cost and many think I blame BO, not so if any thing it is  the expense of shuttle operations, great concept and a hell of a flying machine, but a high maintence expensive machine, that killed 14 people!
In the interm we are going rely and pay the Russians for their heavy lift to supply the ISS.
Time will tell on all this!

Your more than welcome to keep him there Firestorm if you want. We don't need him back.    If fact take him out to meet and aborigine tribal leader so he can bow down and tell them what a sorry we nation we are.  Maybe they'll be kind and take him on a one man crocodile hunt with a sling shot.
