This week's Equal Power featured the all time favorite plane the British Spitfire 14 with a top speed of 361 mph under 5,000 ft. and sporting 2 canons with a range of 2,200 ft and 2 machine guns with a range of 2,000 ft,a great all around plane. With 3 settings on the flaps it is hard for some to master well enough to compete in dogfights, but for those that do master it,great dogfights are to be had. We had a total of 26 brave pilots show up this week. Prez Obama showed up late this week, rumor is that there were Health Bill Protesters outside the Arena preventing him from entering by throwing rocks and sticks at him. Finally Sysop Security Intelligence got control of the crowd so he could enter.  biggrin

The first half started with both sides gaining altitude in oposite directions and then engaging in the middle at high altitudes. It was almost a brawl as planes of both colors were dropping out of the sky like rain. Both SU and GE fought fiercely thru out the half both wanting victory like pitbulls at a dogfight. It was a close fight the whole time with a close score at the half being; SU=58 and GE= 61 putting GE in the lead.
In the start of the second half SU had a couple of sleeping pilots on the runway when the Scramble order was given. It didn't seem to phase the SU pilots as they focused on gaining a victory and hammered the GE planes back to their base. SU never let up thru the whole half bringing the score to near even and a little ahead at times. At the end of the night when the dust settled and the smoke cleared SU won by a nose with a final score of; SU=125 to GE=124. At the end of the first half 1 kill on SU and 2 kills on GE were deducted because they happened after the "Stop Shooting" order was given. It was a Very Close Game. Great Game All,Great Job SU.
