They didn´t tell me to stfu or leave.
What does stfu mean?

You know what it means so does everyone else. Using acronyms to bypass a word filter is grounds enough to ban you from the site. We don't allow cussing or speaking to other people like that.

I didn't tell you that either, maybe someone else did. I simply said be civil. Watch the tongue and the choice of words.

So please,  don't use terms like that.. or anyone else reading this post. Its not user friendly :)

Why ? As long as it´s not aimed at a particular poster/ user ?

You didn´t say it to me, nor did I say it to anyone else. Theres absolutely no reason to feel offended or even attacked.

When it comes seemingly down on yourself you´re overly sensitive (as quite a couple of users are), while it´s seemingly  not worth  to be moderated when it comes down on anyone else.

My part is to either close the thread. . or remove post..or even a user that breaks the rules. I chose to let it run for a bit

Double standard ?

I really don't understand why everyone always gets their panties in a wad anytime  we ask them to adhere to the USAAC forum protocol......Yes we have rules and yes we will enforce them.

What the heck is so hard about that ???

And when you say your done with the USAAC because we enforce our rules...
Man that's real grown up ain't it.

So adhere to what the forum manager asks and no problems..If you can't then move on.

Real simple....not complicated at all.

All boards have moderators. They are there for a reason. All boards have rules....they are there for a reason....
If you don't like a certain boards rules then find one the will cater to your whims.

I have an idea...I will gladly host a new forum board on the USHA server that can be open to anything...No rules...no moderation except anything that may be illegal...

Then all the posters that want to debate with no rules,,,can go there and have at it...

Who wants to take me up on this ???

You can cuss at each other,,,call each other names,,,,WOW,,all of you can have what you want....

Let me know and I will make it so...

@Kid:

I´m not keen to call anybody names, nor I´m keen to get insulted.

I think all this could be done on this board as well, if you really would enforce your rules and forum-protocol, before it´s getting out of hands, as Laryngitis already pointed out. But surely not by closing entire boards. What Firestorm did, was somewhat over the top, as well. In my book twas kinda pulling the emergency-brake after Tbar as FM decided  to let it go.

What you need is a moderator,  who is able to differ a bad choice of words from the real personal, insulting attacks, in a neutral and level-headed way. Calling someone blind, ignorant, arrogant or politically stupid in the context of a heated debate about a certain, contrary topic is different and is far from being a personal insult. It´s rather the expression of a personal, hence subjective opinion. At least it´s totally different from calling someone blind, arrogant, ignorant and/or stupid by all means.

And for sure it´s different from calling someone ´another Bin Laden Poster child´, ´islamic idiot´, ´left wing radical, tree hugging. gay supporting, fudgepacker´, ´self deprecating a$$ monkey´ and ´batch of fermenting cabbage´.

I´m well aware that certain topics and my opinions seem to be of a provoking nature to the persons, who oppose them and obviously they can´t deal with them, other than ignoring the facts first and later becoming insulting. It seems it provokes also mods and forum-managers and they wish that I wouldn´t like to debate such issues at all and are on the same path as Ho is, following the motto: ´If you don´t have to say anything nice about the U.S. and its citizens, don´t say anything at all.´

@Vipor, Tullamore, J690, and anyone else who seems to want to be able to have a decent debate--This isn't the place for it. Those of us who do not belong to "member" squads are only guests and have no right to criticize or offend the members. I made the mistake of thinking it was a site for all US resident players.

If you look at the information on the site's front page and the charter it becomes clear that it is a club site for the benefit of "members" "Members" are the squads that are affiliated to the club and they, through their representatives, make the rules. I've been told that some of the "member" squads are no longer active though they still have representatives but that is really none of my business as a "guest."

The Administrator and Forum Manager have made it clear that they do not like having forum rooms for anything other than game related stuff and they are seeking permission to remove the offending rooms. I for one can take the hint. If the site is restricted in such a way I see no point in looking for game related material in more than one place. Seems to me that the game's central launch site will provide everything I need in that regard. If I need to socialize with other players I guess I can take Vipor's advice and go to the UK site. They seem to be a friendly bunch.

As one of those who participated in the topic that caused all the fuss I apologize to the "members" for having misunderstood the purpose of the site.

The Administrator should be thanked for his generous offer to host a no holds barred forum on his squad site and those who have shown themselves unable to engage in civilized debate may wish to take him up on his offer. That, however, will not suit those of us who like to debate in a moderated environment. As it has been shown that this site is unable or unwilling to moderate such discussions and keep the extremists under control the responsible posters will need to find another venue.
