 I would like to request a Board Meeting be held in December to discuss a few problems;

   1. We need to address the Teamspeak problem. We have too many different teamspeaks now making it difficult for most to find the one everyone might be on. Teamspeak 3 is also not a program some computers can support making it impossible for them to connect to it but they have no problem with the old ts2. Also there is no place where the addresses/ports are listed for all to find so they can enter it in their TS connection list. The only way to connect to TS is the  3 different TS buttons on the launch page which bring you to 3 different places except where you want to be. Browsers may be the reason for part of this but others must also have this problem and choose to just not use it.

    2. The USAAC web page has not been updated in quite some time and needs some attention. That TS viewer is using TS2 while the game clp is using all TS3's.

These problems I believe are the cause for concern for public events so the referee's can maintain order and properly inform the public of what is going on. With all the individual TS's being used and many having passwords it is extremely difficult to get on TS for a newby or some old vets.

There is a TeamSpeak problem ?

To many TeamSpeak server ?
http://www.airattack-central.com/teamspeak.php shows 3 TS3 TeamSpeak servers and 1 TS2 server if you're not in a specific squad.
A click on the name should connect you automatically to that TS server (some browser ask to allow starting an internal program).
Below the name there is "TS 3 Info" where you get the TeamSpeak IP & Port including some other infos if it's to difficult to just click a button and join the TS server.

The reason why some computers can't connect to a TS3 server is because there CPU don't support the SLI feature.
That means it's an very old CPU (even my 8 year old Athlon XP1400 supports it) which also has other limitations with newer software.
TS2 is insecure and could be easily exploited and that's why TS3 (which brings new features, is supported and maintained right now) is the choice.
Newer software means in most cases you also need newer hardware. Because the game we play is old doesn't mean we have to use old stuff all over the place.
Next request is that to optimize the web page for Internet Explorer 2.1 so someone using Win95 is happy ?

For a referee to maintain order and informing pilots, there is a chat in the game which should be used. Requires a keyboard only. Otherwise.....well good luck in trying to force someone to use TeamSpeak.

But all that is not the real problem, isn't it ?

With all the individual TS's being used.........

Maybe we should work on a goal that allows only one TS server worldwide. That would solve all problems immediately.

Exactly my problem on one computer, which is the one I use to fly so clicking the TS button does me no good. I am sure others may be having the same problem.

That sounds like a good start on fixing the problem.

Sorry Bonz but Tanks right... if the majority choose to use TS3 then thats the way it must be. Perfect example is the larger FFA arena....the majority vote went to the larger map so that was the way it had to be despite objections from the minority that didnt want this.

As for a single worldwide server, good luck with that one mate.  Cool

Maybe I am being misunderstood here,as in RL poilitics let me try another stab at this one more time.  All to often things get overlooked when one does not have a problem so others must not have a problem either.

Forget about what I said about the one pc not being able to use TS3 and lets try this from this angle. I just bought a brand new pc,an HP with an AMD Phenom II 820 Quad core processor, should be no problems, right? Well the only way, according to you all to connect to TS3 is "Just hit the button",which also does not show up until you are on the launch page.  OK which button? I have 3,count them,3 buttons; One says "Members in TS",one says "Raven TS",and the other just has a fancy button that says "Teamspeak" with a green circle on it. When I hit the "members in TS" button it brings up a box showing 2 USAAC teamspeaks and a BBC teamspeak and none of the join buttons will let me in. The second button ""Raven Teamspeak" brings me to the old "Page Can Not Be Displayed" page and I can not get in. The third button, the fancy one that just says "Teamspeak" puts me in a teamspeak but god only knows where I am. While being in that TS I went to the first button to see what room I am in and low and behold it does not show me in any of the 3 servers listed. I would say this is a problem. If I manually connect using my desktop icon and physicaly enter the address, bookmark it,I can get in any of the many TS servers. BUT where do you find these addresses? You can not get the address until you sign in to TS so if you can't find the address until you get in,how do know what address to go to? Nowhere are these addresses listed for anyone to find.
So after all my rambling did I get my point across? Might we have a problem with TS? I think so but I am just an old goat that likes to fly.

                                                                                           sifone

And Fire, why is the TS link on the web page still for TS2?

How to find the IP's and ports of the TeamSpeak servers ?
You click on the "Members in TeamSpeak" button which shows you a list of TS servers.
Every server listed there has a name like "USAAC Team Speak" and below stays "TS 3 Info"
Click on the "TS 3 Info" and you get a page with details where also is included the IP and the port for this TS server.

When you click on the name of the TS server in the list you should connect to the server which means that your TS opens and than connects you.

The second button "Raven Teamspeak" should also open your TeamSpeak and than join this server.

Because this is not working for you there is the possibility that you got some security or browser settings wrong.
Button sure works fine.

The fancy button that just says "Teamspeak", puts you into the UK TeamSpeak.
Strange that this button works while others are not. Indicates that there is really some security feature kicking in which prevents TS to open.

List of TS servers with IP and port:
UK: 109.108.135.147:9987
US: 69.46.2.198:9991
BBC: ts88.light-speed.com:4114 (requires password)

banghead   Arghhhh, well I know for a fact others have same problem, but nevermind I will just keep doing it the way I do and shut my mouth on this.

Shut the mouth leads to undiscovered bugs which could be solved easily if the right guys has knowledge about.
I have seen that many times, bugs which can be fixed quickly simply never got reported, but it doesn't mean to make such a huge thing and call some meeting because there is a problem.

Now in the posting before, you wrote that it worked with the UK TS where you could join when you clicked on the button, but not on any other TS server button or link.
The difference is simply that the button for the UK TS we build in at the launch has a web address like teamspeak-airattack-central.com while all others have an IP address like 69.46.2.198
Thats the only difference besides how the button or link looks like.
Now I changed the IP address for the Raven TS button you have visible to an web address and if this works now and puts out no error, we have found the cause and fixed it.
Also, if that works now for you it would be interesting what browser and OS you use, so we can find the thing that cause the problem in the first place.

I have no knowledge that someone else has a similar problem with TS3 and the buttons. Most likely because they not report it.

If you guys weren't so enchanted by the sound of your own voices you wouldn't need TeamSpeak.  angel
