Hello all. I made a program to help with Joystick control: Air-Attack Key Emulator

When you press a joystick button, the game thinks you've pressed a keyboard key instead. What's the point? This allows the use of more than 10 buttons, a few mildly special functions, and is quicker to mess around with when experimenting on a new control scheme. Hope someone finds it helpful.

Note: If you use the program for the original ten buttons, add the Empty Joystick Profile (from the Tools menu).

Edit: Updated to v1.1. When the application has focus, it shows which joystick button was last pressed (and no longer makes an annoying sound I hadn't realized it made).

Download: Self-extracting zip file (recommended version) or Zip file

Hi Snowy,
Love what you've done. I have a Saitek AV8R-01 Joystick
but I find it extremely difficult to set the selector for the joystick buttons.
I have some designated but others I cannot select.
Any input for users would be appreciated.

Hummm, I'm not sure how the selector knob (that's what you mean, right?) or toggles are implemented on that stick. It looks like it has four regular buttons on top which should work normally. I'll try to get a little test script out to show what standard joystick features are being activated. A Saitek driver or software (I don't know which it is) can output to keyboard keys and if you want some special feature that the driver or program doesn't offer that can probably be worked around directly.
