WOW. Guys lets all chill out and stop bitching!!!!
What bonzy is trying to say is that EP would be more fun and fairer if both squads had an equal number of pilots!!.
Have a think about this:
How would you feel if you had 5pilots flying and the other squad had 7
Thats 2 more than you
And every time you tried to take off you were being pinned and not having a decent game.
I know it would piss me off and id think whats the point in turning up to matches if thats going to happen, i belive that this reason is why pilots are not turning up (among others of course)

Now why doesnt everyone take a chill pill and relax.

At the end of the day this is supposed to be a fun game :)

As has been said by someone else already, it isn´t only about equal numbers but mainly about skill.

To avoid a big frustration, a 2nd division has been added in the past. Nowadays with only ca. 10 squads left, that would mean only 5 squads per division and a rather short league-period, even if all 5 squads playing each other twice.

Another solution would be, to make a Pilot-skill list, disband all existing squads and sharing the pilots equally on new squads by considering their skills (but that´s of course subjective). So there wont be any uber-squad.

Equal numbers alone wont make you any happier and only leads to the next problem, which is the different pilot-skills.

You had a similar discussion a couple month ago already and some came up with great suggestions. Why don´t you pick up, where you left off ?

different pilot skills leads to weeding out the less experienced pilots and recruiting the better ones, it happens in most newer squads. the less experienced, or pilots in waiting should start a squad may be. they could be called the Losers squad, lol. Ill be the 1st officer. lmao hmmm....

Bonz I truly do know exactly what you are saying.

I was one of the people pushing to get LTS as a league,
the main reason was because I got tired of getting pinned
on the base and getting pounded on my base.

while this did put the pin issue to rest we still had some pilot numbers problems.
 the LTS rules stated...

..min 2 pilots to fly each round.
more than 6 pilots flying  per team must be even, 7 vs 7, 8 vs 8 ect..
A team may rotate pilots after each round
.
So the numbers rule was still in affect.

When I first proposed the EP league I got a lot of flak about that,
One of the first comments was
( HOW Stupid  )
and where's the learning curve gone.

Sadly there are those who have the upper hand and don't want to give it up.
Perhaps if you propose a league and put it for comments you may get a new league
going , perhaps on saturdays, I did try this once and couldnt get it off the ground,
You may find out how difficult it can be to please the masses

Lets say we have a numbers rule. Pilots must be even 5 vs 5  6 vs 6 ect..
you pre arrange with the other squad how many pilots will show,
But your squad  shows up with 2 less than expected, Now what?

Should the other squad match the numbers? and the problem is
they would put  in their best in to insure the win.

And the xtra pilots would be left out. Sitting on the sidelines for most matches is not very exciting.
You see my friend this issue has a double edge that is a difficult one to fix.

I could go on but I think I haven't said anything to really help,
I know your just asking for a little fairness by matching the numbers.
I would love to see this happen in every match,

OK I'm  done rambling  crazy

When a squad hasn´t the numbers of the required minimum, or has many pilots in different timezones and can´t ensure a full turnout, why signing up for a league at all ?

It´s the pilots that want to fly but the C/o´s who want to keep their squad (established or not).

What I don´t understand is, why squads who can´t bring the numbers, don´t merge with other squads in a similar situation. Damn pride in the way again. Some would rather not flying at all, if they can´t fly with their buddies or with their own squads. Current situation: 3 + squads undermanned.

e.g. the Koreans ended up with 3 big squads only after years of playing on the same server. Maybe undesirable but probably also unavoidable.

So far to the lack of pilots - issue.

It still doesn´t solve the different skills issue though, which I think is by far more hindering in regard to a sense of achievement.

It´s really 2 different issues you talk about there.

I can't speak for other squads but in our case we have several members that have had unexpected real life issues,pc problems or internet problems that end up leaving us short from time to time. We are considered one of the weaker squads and I was just saying that if a squad we are fighting is one of the better squads then it should be no problem for them to beat us with the same number on each side while the extra's watch the show. That is if something beyond our control prevented us from having enough pilots. Would they really need the extra pilots on their side?

Getting more recruits or skilled recruits is not as easy as it sounds these days in AA. Being on a larger squad it would be easy to lose sight of this as the skilled recruits tend to join the skilled squads which increases their numbers at matches so they never have to worry about not having enough, just who's going to sit. You should try to put yourself in one of these smaller squads shoes sometime and imagine how you would feel. The frustration gets to them after awhile.

I repeat again it was not a call for a rule change,a squad overhaul or anything else but a plea for fairness.

I may have presented my plea in an abrasive manner in my first post and I apologize for that,I speak Vermonter, lol.  Cool

You know, for a FREE game that you guys (NOT all of you) take for granted, you (NOT all of you) do SO MUCH whining and bitching.

You voulintarily play in a squad in a league. You don't HAVE to. It doesn't COST you anything.

I'm not one for rudeness (OK MAYBE I AM) but some people who complain about this game act like they're paying for it. If you don't like it, don't play it. There's many other people who will.

Pop to refresh your memory the quote below is what I believe you are referring to.
Guys is plural mind you.
Checking my memory. The EP League was not a proposal. The next league was supposed to be discussed on the forums, "that is what I recall, at the last meeting before you came up with this league".
Pretty Stupid.

Guys do understand doing things like this keeps rookies being rookies, the learning curve gets set back to zero, there is no consistency. Fun events have more consistency then the Leagues/Competitions that does not sound Odd?
