Very good match BD,if we didn't have the extra pilot in the second half it might have ended quite differently, lol. The squad voted for flying 7 so we went with it,good thing, lol.  biggrin
    Thanks for reffing Gelp.  Cool

Probably one of my most enjoyable matches so far.  Thought we were pretty evenly matched regardless of the number of pilots.   Second half was very exciting.  Wasp did well and it shows in the final result.    Good show M8s.

What happened to equal power means equal power?

I find it strange that a squad (or members of a squad) so vociferous in the way that they wanted fairness in pilot numbers decided to play with 2 players extra against what is 1 of the weakest squads in AA?  Was it purely an attempt to get other squads to fly with reduced pilots to give you an advantage or just a way to complain about an issue that you don't really believe in yourselves?

Is there any logic left in this world? Does anyone think beyond their ego's anymore? I just don't understand you people, when you are in fun events you all constantly cry for evening up the sides yet in serious matches you jump at the chance to fly against another squad with uneven sides. I just don't get it. Climb off your high horses and do the right thing.

I've been taking a break from AirAttack for personal reasons and since I won't be able to commit myself to matches etc for some time I quit WASP a couple of weeks ago.  A friend suggested I look in on these forums because of a couple of posts; one concerning "What is the answer" and this one.

With regard to "What is the answer" I think Bonz was having a real bad day if he read something offensive into Mrs Mutley's post. Seems to me she was simply trying to make him feel better about the difficulties of running fun events. Anyway I'm sure he will now do the right thing.

As far as this thread is concerned I'm not sure what to say. Even if I didn't agree with the way it was written, I'm sure Bonz was sincere in what he posted about "Equal Power meaning Equal Numbers".  I would have expected, however, for the sentiment expressed in his post to be adhered to in future league matches and in fact WASP did adhere to it in their last match against OA by flying less pilots. So what went wrong with the match against BD? All I can say is that WASP is democratically run and  I guess Bonz found that his squad members didn't agree with his view on equal numbers and over ruled him.  Or maybe you all convinced him he was wrong and he changed his mind. Who knows.

It can be a tough row to hoe sometimes, trying to balance the right thing to do with loyalty to one's squad and team mates. I'm kinda tired of trying to walk that narrow line so I don't think I'll be participating in squads for a while even if my personal issues permit it in the future.

Hey guys, first of all i would like to apologize to WASP,we only showed 5,which pretty much gave you the win,i wasnt there ,along with a few others. we have our reasons.
maybe the match would of ended differently had it been 7 v 7,but no worries WASP.
For all of you who are wondering what is going off,we have had 2 massive blows lately, one with my great friend in the squad who has had to take some time out in the real world, and might not be back for a long time ,this has saddened me alot, and another due to health,as for me,im in my last year of school and i have exams this week.

So yeah,ONE MASSIVE apology for the squad not showing up 7,and sorry for what trouble it has caused.
Thanks .

I think you're confused Jerry; I have no problem flying against a weakened side, I've been that weakened side what must be a hundred times over the years and never complain because it's the squads fault for not having enough pilots.  We all know the rules when we sign up.  My issue was with people being called "egotistical" and many other things for disagreeing with "Equal power means equal power" only for the main proponents of that proposition not doing it themselves and actually flying with 2 men up against a new squad.

Quote
I am taking the first step in this matter and WASP squad will not fly any matches outnumbering our opponents. If they only have 5,we fly 5,if they only have 6,we will fly 6,and so on. I know some of the other squads enjoy outnumbering their opponent and beating them into the ground with all their superior pilots that probably could have won anyway if it was even numbers. I for one and I think I speak for the rest of the squad also, do not like the feeling of winning this way. I believe it is time for the rest of you to be respectful and honorable and do the right thing by following my lead.

Are WASP now not honourable or respectful or is everyone else now OK to fly like we were because you've changed your minds?

If you don't abide by your words then what was the point in all that stuff being written in the first place?  You guys must understand that coming out with that stuff, calling other people names for not going along with it, and then not doing it yourselves looks a tad, errrr, silly?

Hi just thought id add my two pennies, remember this is just my opinion so please respect it as everybodys opinion should be respected.

Firstly i just want to start by saying that Nibs of BD said to us before the start we could fly seven.

Now
I beleive when Bonz first brung this up he was trying to be the good guy, he was trying to make a valid point that sometimes equal power isnt equal and that the better squads, knowing they will win anyway, still choose to fly the 7 minimum rule and will never give the weaker squads an equal fair match.
The post he originally made wasnt telling people to make it fair, he was just trying to help people see the truth about the situation and be good sports and hopefully, maybe some of the good squads would be confident enough to fly 'equal'.
But as i said most of the good squads will not make it even and will fly the minimum regardless of the enemys numbers.

After all the comments about his post i feel that most of you may have lost your respect for good old Bonzy, he never meant to look like the bad guy but it seems all your posts have done exactly that.
I have read the comments and understand how each of you may feel of the situation but after all the comments the post got it was obvious that none of the squads are going to make it 'equal' if given the opportunity.

With this in mind why should we carry on offering to make it even when the other squads are taking the opportunity to get easy points for the league?
we should do the same as the other squads, we need the points aswell.

But now that weve done the same as the other squads we get flak for it?
Come on people lets forget this and look to the future, this was just an idea that seemed to get out of hand, and hey the rules are not going to change so we have to deal with it.

Im sorry to anybody who might be annoyed by anything iv said but this is the situation from my point of view.

Thank you,
Falcon
X/O

BD great match i dont know what the hell we were doing second half, bloody good teamwork you lot well done.
I think you will be a force to be reckoned with soon enough. keep at it  :)

Put simply: Equal Power means Equal Planes, not Equal Teams or Equal numbers.

I blame Popgun for not running another LTS, which would have made the team numbers.. uhh

ok, never mind.  crazy
