I'm posting this here to avoid further disruption of Kujo's post about his vehicle restorative work.

Project i have been working on, some of you may appreciate it.

Your topic might get more reverence if you were to make a similar starting post with pictures in the Photo Gallery Section .. any section to start with. Once that is done I will make a "Player's Hobby " photo section and move your topic there.

So long as a topic is posted in the Pilots Lounge expect it to be at risk for  hijacking.

Please stay on topic folks. Thank you.

Moving a post to a child board is a good way to kill it, since the new post icon doesn't flash when there is a new post.

Going off topic, especially in the Pilots Lounge, isn't a problem. The thread can always be brought back on topic by anyone wishing to do so.

Temper is right, but the Forum Manager is also right. The guilty party here is shrapnel who caused the problem with a mindless one liner that developed into a half baked discussion. For that he is sorry. His greatest strength is his willingness to admit his failings.  biggrin

Staying on topic is important in some circumstances but not in others.
eg: If a meaningful debate is taking place on a topic relating to the way AirAttack is played then it would be wrong to spoil the debate with irelevancies. However, as I have always said, when folks are having a social debate it is quite normal for side issues to develop that can take the discussion down a different track until eventually the subject becomes totally different from the original topic. So yes, the Pilot's lounge is a place where free roaming discussion should be permitted as long as it isn't disruptive or uncivil.

Kujo is rightfully proud of what he does and wanted to share his creativity with us but Tbar is right. It should probably have been posted in the photo gallery. Moving it there is not a problem. Cutting out a  discussion that arose about same sex marriage and splitting it into a separate topic is also not a problem. Spotting issues like that and correcting them with careful editing is part of a moderator's daily function and I'm pleased to see that the FM was on the ball in this instance.

Anyway, it's all shrapnel's fault; he's a disruptive sob. The only positive thing that can be said about his latest transgression is that it has caused more people to look at Kujo's post and enjoy the results of his work.

  A quote from the forum main page defining the "Pilot Lounge" ;
Quote
Posting Of All Topics "NOT" Related To Air Attack.

  So how is posting anything in this section "Off Topic"?

Quoting Text for the record as Shrap has a bad habit of coming back eons later and deleting his posts.

From the Rules, not from the FM

Quote
Do not post off-topic. Please keep your comments consistent with the subject and purpose of the conversation thread. Deliberate disruption -- such as consistent off-topic and/or abusive commentary -- will not be tolerated such posts will be deleted. The community moderators reserve the right to delete posts and/or whole conversations we determine are of an irrelevant, abusive or disruptive nature.

A Thread here on this board is called a "Topic".
Thread = Topic

Once a thread or topic is started, that content is the 'topic'. It does not matter what section or board, the rules are the same for all parts.

Title of a section/board has nothing to do with rules of the board. Perhaps you would like the 'title' changed, if so make a suggestion that is workable and we will give it a go :)
