hi all,

I suggest we take the recording offline for the time being and convert them all the mp3. I would also suggest we only need the last 3 months there as if anyone really wanted to hear it then they would have done it in that time. I can also monitor the downloads for each recording.

In relation to Eagle's comment
Quote from: aegle
I have attended many meetings of organizations dealing with affairs much more important than anything arising in our community.  Voice recordings were never a feature so why do we need them?
I too attend many meetings and use a mic to record those meetings for the simple purpose of making sure we get exactly what the client wants. This then goes to the development team. I think having the recordings is a good idea but the need for over 3 months is excessive.

If Joker could convert the last 3 months to mp3 then upload then the problem will be solved as far as slow loading time. I will also drop the first 3 months so as to conserve some room.

I probably shouldn't belabour the point and I'm always willing to go along with majority thinking but if Fire's example is to be taken to it's logical conclusion there's nothing to stop anyone attending the meetings from recording for their own purpose. Anyone else should be content to read the minutes.
That being said, I will shut up and say no more about it ...  (cheers and a standing ovation from everyone)  Kiss

Yes agreed Aegle.......there is nothing stopping anyone from attending the meetings and recording those themselves, unless they have prior engagements.

I think the purpose of having the meetings for download is for those such people that cannot make the meetings and of course those that are too lazy to attend....lol

Agele could speak to derf directly instead of in the third person, but its not necessary, but seriously, i agree
100% you m8.

I never suggested the files be hosted on this site, or even anywhere, my post went something like:
I suggest the TS session from the meeting be recorded and posted for users to download.

it is really in the interest of transparency

There may be other alternatives (divshare.com) to hosting the files on the usaac site.

Keep up the good work Fire, we all appreciate it.

To Derf and his brother Bob   Cool
My humblest and most profuse apologies for my rudeness, Derf. I meant no offence by referring to you in the third person. It's just my bureaucratic form of writing  :-[
