I had a suggestion at last nights BOD meeting and thought I would share it with the rest of the communities.

EXP:  Fly 2 squad rules

Squads:

1st week

1.)  Terror of the Skies vs. the best the AA community can get.

2nd week

2.)  Warships vs. the best the AA communities can get.

3rd week

3.)  TKFM vs. the best the AA community can get.

4th week

4.)  USHA vs. the best the AA community can get.

etc etc.

You get the idea.

Take the pilots from the battles with the least amount of deaths (community) per week and have them battle the squads.

When the community flys against a squad the community will sign up and the best eight or ten will be chosen from the list.

This will be based on your kill to death ratio.  A minimum of 500 sorties must have been flown under that tag to be considered.

The community pilots will fly there regular tags and the Squad must fly thier squad tag.  (tag name length is not important)

EXP:  [-TERROR-]_Honolulu_Ho or [Warships]_Madman for the Squads, the community fh64_Lucky or Honolulu_Horror or Tullamore_Dew etc etc

Just an idea, add to it or subtract from it, let me know your thoughts.

Great idea and I think it´s not new. Didn´t we have something like ´any squad vs. all stars ` in the past ?

But who are the ´all stars´? I think we have many of great and well skilled pilots.

I also think this is a good idea and I would hate to put any kind of a damper on it. I'm just wondering about how well balanced such matches would be. Squads are generally made up of pilots with varying levels of skill and even if the top eight are picked would they be a match for eight top pilots from the rest of the flying community?

Admittedly the three top squads can probably field eight pretty good pilots and, of course, they would have the advantage of being used to flying as a team. Some of the other newer squads, however, would probably have difficulty producing eight pilots good enough to take on the best of the rest. Anyway as I said I don't want to be negative and I think it is well worth trying.

I don't know if there has ever been any kind of international contest but that also might be worth a try with each of the national communities selecting their best pilots for a world series. Gee we could even allow countries to buy good players from other countries just like they do in European soccer. I can see Temper, for example, being sold for two small bags of M & M's.  ::D

By the way, Honolulu, don't you want to broadcast this in the other communities also?

Great idea Ho......as discussed yesterday this could be a winner. There was one small area of concern I had and this was mentioned yesterday at the meeting. There was a suggestion that the "All Stars" be picked from the first 10 or so pilots that signed up.

I would like to add to this by asking that we choose from each community rather than at random.  As we are all in different time zones when the registration opened half of us might be sleeping.

Just a thought!!

Dam I traded 2 bags of M + M's , a snickers, a half eaten payday bar, a half a can of Coca Cola and some jujubees some months back for him!!!   Sheesh, the financial crisis has finally hit harder.

I love this idea Hono.   The BSS did a "BSS vs the World" over the summer.  It was a lot of fun even though we got our butts kicked.  All of the BSS guys had a great time and wanted to do it again.  We had a little different set up.  The BSS had a 2 square limit but the World team had a 1 square limit.  Other than that it was an hour of come kill the BSS.

I say lets do it.

I wonder if we can give some thought to this idea,

Can the League Manager do something with this?

Perhaps the League Manager or even the Fun Events Manager could let me know if this is something they want to pick up. If so I will transfer it to either one of their forums.

This thread started back in December. The FE Team has been watching it. I think its best to leave this out in public area right now for its attention value.

Ho.. right now the Fun Event Team is busy working to convert and "bring over" about 10 Events that have never be installed on our new site. Once those are done we can follow up on this.. but you can join the team and work on this as a special project.

Also what we could do guys, Is I could run my league event Kings of The Skies format so all of you guys could see whats its like. We could do Squads and also if any squadron like GE want to make some of the other pilots and from solo pilots or just a team they could fly in it.
