Needs a minimum of 6 independent pilots to register for membership of the group before it can be recognized. Only seven have registered. The thinking is that more need to be registered in order for it to be consistently viable.
Frankly it looks like there is very little interest. At the risk of having Aegle chaining herself to the railings outside USAAC headquarters screaming about women's suffrage, there doesn't seem to be much point in pursuing it at this time.

Problem with this is that Popgun is now a member of the TS squad and, I think, Ravens will soon be joining USAAC which wll eliminate Valkyrie and Tango from the registered list. That will leave 5 registered pilots when you need a minimum of 6. Not much point in going ahead with this unless any of you can recruit more independent pilots.

I will answer Talon since I don't think anyone else is going to and, after all, I did start the thread several months ago.
The problem here seems to be lack of interest. Not enough independent pilots came forward to make a viable group and, even if they had there was always the problem that many would eventually join a USAAC squad and become ineligible.
Perhaps circumstances have changed in that two or three USAAC squads have dismantled and the pilots are now with non USAAC squads. Theoretically, therefore, there should be more than enough independent pilots to form a group. Problem remains; is there enough interest?
Just to remind everyone of what it is all about:
"Pilots who do not belong to any squad and pilots who are in squads that are not registered with USAAC may join the Independent Pilot Group. In order to do so they must submit their names by posting in this forum. Their names must be the user names under which they are registered on the CLP. If a sufficient number of pilots come forward arrangements will be made for them to vote for two of their number to represent them in USAAC."
Not many people are contributing to these forums these days but I suspect that many visit as guests from time to time hoping that, eventually, they will see something meaningful. :) Anyway it's up to those who read this to decide whether they want to put their names forward. If enough do so then it can move forward. As always I, as an independent pilot, am willing to be part of such a group. This is open to any pilot who is not in an existing USAAC squad but, in the final count, 50 percent of those registered must be US pilots.
So if you want your voice to be heard put your name forward. This may be of particular interest to ex TS, TEA pilots and those from non registered squads like FD, WS, Tigers etc. which have a number of US pilots. Anyway it's up to you. You can drag AA pilots to the water but you can't make em drink. :)
